While we each celebrate in our own way, there is something special about this day.

For me, it is a time of sadness as well as gladness, but though snow may fall and cold winds blow, my heart is warmed, as is my soul.

As I was listening to some music tonight, the song “Do You Hear What I Hear?” got me to thinking...

“A child, a child shivers in the cold, let us bring him silver and gold...”

I'm no wise man, but it seems to me that a child who is shivering in the cold would have little use for silver and gold. While those gifts are certainly worthy of a King, if I were in such a position, I would humbly present that baby with a blanket.

For gold and silver I have none to give...

But I could spare a blanket, and in that small way, maybe I could give back some of the warmth that has been given to me.
