On Monday, I flew out to Vegas on business...

I wound up finishing my assignment within a few hours of landing, and having a splitting headache, was in no real mood to fly back the same day.

A spontaneous idea soon became a road trip, and the next morning I found myself at the Grand Canyon--and in much better spirits.

While approaching one of the vantage points, I encountered a desert bighorn sheep, and to my amazement, it seemed remarkably comfortable in my presence. I even managed to take its picture with my camera phone.

Anyway, this little side trip brought me some peace and relaxation, and helped me to remember that we still live in a great country--some might even call it grand.

This is the United States of America. Yes, we've got problems, and yes, we've got challenges. Yet together there is no problem we cannot solve; no challenge we cannot overcome. This is the United States of America, and it's time we lived up to our name!
