If at first (or second, or third) you don't succeed, try, try again...

My video question about repaying the Social Security trust fund was asked during the Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 Republican Presidential primary debate that was held in St. Petersburg, Florida. Apparently, it was one of the most watched primary debates in history, with an estimated 5 million viewers.

"This is Adam Florzak of Illinois. The national debt is now growing so quickly, it will have increased by over half a million dollars in just the time it takes to ask this question. Over the years, politicians have borrowed just under two trillion dollars from the Social Security trust fund to cover these massive budget deficits, and now the retirements of our generation are at risk. What will you do as President to help repay this money and restore the trust?" - Adam Florzak

To be perfectly honest, I don't exactly feel like I received an answer to the actual question. I know it's a tough question, and I'm not so sure it can be answered in 30 seconds on a television screen. So if any of the candidates (from either party) have a sensible solution, please let me know, because the American people deserve a straight answer.
